The Malawi Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium who is also accredited to the Kingdom of the Netherlands on Saturday 15 April 2023 hosted a team of volunteers from the World Servants Netherlands at the Malawi Embassy in Brussels. The team cycled a distance of over 160 Km from the Netherlands to Brussels to fundraise for construction of teacher houses in Malawi.
Speaking at the end of the fundraising tour, Her Excellency Dr. Ngwira expressed gratitude to World Servant Netherlands for its contribution to improving the quality of education in Malawi through construction of classroom blocks and teacher houses. She said limited education infrastructure is one the factors affecting access to quality education in Malawi.
The World Servant has, since 2005, been constructing class room blocks and teachers’ houses every year in Mzimba district in partnership with the Church of Central Africa Presbetarian (CCAP), Livingstonia Synod. This year the organisations plans to build teacher houses at Ndatuwa primary school in Mzimba South. The volunteers are scheduled to travel to Malawi in July 2023 for a three week mission during which they will launch construction of the houses.
